Elegant Abstract Background

Engineering

During my undergraduate education at Western Washington University, studied plastics and composites engineering. I gained knowledge of fundamental engineering and design principles, and experience with manufacturing engineering, process engineering, and fabrication and testing of polymer and composites parts.

Characterization of Thermoplastic Prepreg for Process Modeling

Characterization of Thermoplastic Prepreg for Process Modeling

Characterizing a high-performance thermoplastic prepreg composite material for developing process modeling support.

Compounding PPS and PPSU

Compounding PPS and PPSU

Compounding PPS with PPSU to improve toughness and thermal stability of PPS.

SAMPE Composite I-Beam Bridge

SAMPE Composite I-Beam Bridge

Constructing an I-beam bridge from carbon fiber epoxy woven prepreg composites, using FEA simulation software to optimize ply sequence for reaching desired load requirements.

Mold Qualification Study

Mold Qualification Study

The purpose of this project was to qualify the use of polymethyl pentene pelletized resin using the Hinge Pyramid mold on the Sumitomo electric injection molding machine, for large scale manufacturing.

Car Body Surface Design

Car Body Surface Design

Design, planning, and modeling of a car body using surfacing tools in CATIA.

Additional Experiences

Compression Mold Design and Manufacturing

Jun 2022

Bellingham, WA

Western Washington University

  • Designed, manufactured, and validated a 3-piece aluminum compression mold using a 3-axis CNC mill and CATIA computer aided manufacturing planning, allowing for composite tensile test specimens to be produced with higher quality and lower cycle time for all future PCE students
